Scent has always been
one of the main contributors in sexual attraction. However, certain scents
excite the sensors more effectively than others do. Humans naturally produce
the pheromone called androstenone. Its scent is similar to that of musk
or sandalwood. Along with the scent of musk and sandalwood, other oils
are also said to create a “mood” for love.
Clary sage has a sweet and uplifting aroma. The Egyptians
believed it helped cure infertility in woman.
Geranium is relaxing and floral. It is often used in perfumes
and aids in balancing emotions.
Jasmine is considered luxurious and is also used widely
in perfumes. It is a little more costly than some other oils and is believed
it was a favorite of Cleopatra’s.
Neroli promotes relaxation and dispels shyness. Many believe
the oil was named after the 16th century princess Nerola of Italy.
Orange is sensual and soothing and also creates an uplifting
feeling. Combined with patchouli and ylang ylang it is one of the most
powerful blends.
Patchouli is exotic and sensual and is very popular in India.
Rose is romantic and euphoric. It is the most expensive
of oils and has been a favorite since roman times.
Ylang ylang is relaxing, soothing and was originally used
to treat insect bites and to fight infections, but its qualities are very
strong sensually.
For your romantic evening you
can burn the oils to release their aroma into the air or you can wear
a drop or two and even place some on your bed lines. They can be use in
bath water or in massage oil. Be creative, Try combining a couple of different
oils to create a more personal scent. Have fun!
