Astrology is an ancient science that evolved out of the early human's necessity to synchronize their lifestyle with nature's cycles. As early shepherds scanned the night sky they observed that some stars were wanderers whose positions in relation to other stars, at times, augured an especially abundant harvest, or a decimating drought and sometimes the outbreak of war.

These wanderers were what we now refer to as planets. The astrology that we have inherited may be an eclectic mix from various ancient cultures, but it's essence remains as always; that planetary patterns and cycles coincide with mundane affairs.

Ama's "Guide To The Most Auspicious Days" is based on the lunar cycle and the moon's angular relationship to the sun and the eight planets. Astrologers use these lunar relationships to other planets to schedule certain activities. Each month Ama also provides information about significant celestial events and the current available planetary energy that the universe has made available for you to utilize however you choose. Remember that being attuned is to be at the right place, doing the right thing at the right time.

Mercury retrogrades on October 1 at 3:24 pm EDT until October 22 at 8:24 pm EDT. During mercury retrograde mistakes are easily made in writing and editing, mail is lost, objects misplaced, cars, computers, telephones and technology experience mechanical difficulties and loss, old issues resurface, messages are misconstrued and projects are not completed.

Anything important done during this time probably has to be redone, revised, revisited, rerouted, reverted, reviewed or reversed. The infamous Bush/Gore election occurred during Mercury retrograde and the votes had to be recounted. Astrologers advise against making major decisions during this period, nor should you purchase or repair cars and mechanical/technological devises, schedule operations unless the condition is life threatening, travel, schedule important meetings or lectures unless you are rehashing old issues or sign contracts. During the mercury retrograde period, keep options open, be flexible, cultivate a sense of humor, anticipate the monkey wrench and have plan B waiting in the wings.

Saturn, the planet of tradition, authority, restrictions, limitations, control, governments, the economy, testing and discipline, is presently in a challenging relationship to disruptive Pluto, the planet of transformation, birth, death, secrets and conspiracy. We may begin to feel this planetary tug of war starting from mid- October ( maybe earlier for those who are sensitive) as it approaches an exactness, until after the early November. You may experience upsets in your own structure. You may meet with challenges or a conspiracy to weaken your foundation. What you thought was solid may begin to crumble.

Change and transformation is called for in whatever sector of your astrological chart that this aspect occurs. For humanity as a collective old debts resurface, many of us reap karma and pay backs are demanded. It is best to make sure that your finances are on a solid base, that you tie up any loose ends that you have left dangling from the past and you make peace with your adversaries before this planetary event transpires.
