Rebecca Caldwell is a 30 year old San Francisco Bay area artist. Born in San Diego California, she moved to San Francisco when she was eighteen and taught herself how to paint by the age of twenty-one. In 1997 she decided to enroll in art school to pursue painting in an academic environment.

After two years in art school, she started her first 3-D project outside the confines of the classroom. This project slowly took priority over her 2-D academic work, so she decided to leave school to work full time with this new obsession. Started in 1999, "Carthedral" is a street legal rolling sculpture inspired by her love of gothic architecture, gothic literature, and a modern gothic aesthetic.

Rebecca is involved with a bay area local art car community and drives Carthedral in parades and car shows nationwide. Rebecca plans to create a series of paintings from the still life compostitions found on Carthedral.
